Q.Hi Belle and Sebastian,
I know you came down to Dubai a few years ago to play a small show. Don't know how it went really, unfortunately was out of town. Anyway, with news of a 'new album' coming out, I do hope you'd think about returning? The live music scene in this city isn't really happening, but it'd be amazing if you could come again. Even if you come and not do a show, perhaps you'd like to just enjoy the weather or something. In that case, I'd love to invite you for a typical Dubai boozy brunch (not sure if you got to have one last time you were here). Anyway, I'm very serious, please come back :-)

You didn't miss much, because it never happened. We did change planes at Dubai a couple of times and stepped out of the climate controlled atmosphere briefly in the middle of the night to board a plane, and I think from some conversation in the studio today that I overheard, Richard might have dj'd there, or maybe played with Snow Patrol. But not B&S.

A. Hmmm, I'd love to say it were likely, but it would depend on whether there are promoters there who feel there is enough of an audience there. I've a feeling you may have to travel for the time being. Sorry to disappoint.

Q.I love your music dearly, I do. It's just disappointing that I have yet to see my favorite band live. Perhaps, maybe, possibly, you'll perform in Miami, Florida. I mean it's terribly humid and hot over here, and I can understand how that may seem unappealing to you all. But, over here, you have a devoted fan base that would love to see you. This is just a sincere suggestion. After all, nobody asks them like they used to, so it may as well be me.

A. it's seemed nuts each time we've come to Australia not to take the final hop to NZ, i would love to go certainly. it's come down to finances both times though - it's not just flights to and accommodation in New Zealand that we have to cover, but wages for the crew - i'm sure if we could cover the costs, or even come close to doing so, we would be there in a shot. fingers crossed the next time we travel so far we'll make it, and do a show to an audience of glaciers.
